In April 2008 (toward the end of
kindergarten), Bram wrote an essay about "Why I Love Trees," and he was one
of the winners selected to have a tree planted in his name at his elementary
school.
The contest was sponsored by
Jeremy Starritt,
a candidate running for our local school board.
This was Bram's
essay:
The trees halp to see war the wind is
going. The trees halp to gat nuespapr. Trees halp uthr anumls like
ans. Ans need the leevs to choow on.
(The trees help to see where the wind is
going. The trees help to get newspaper. Trees help other animals
like ants. Ants need the leaves to chew on.)
Bram
and the other winners got to go to a local nursery and see the types of trees
that would be planted at their schools.
